Sergei Prokofiev (1891-1953)

Sergei Prokofiev was a Russian composer pianist and conductor. Some of his more famous works are The Love for Three Oranges, the Lieutenant Kije suite, Romeo and Juliet, and Peter and the Wolf. He was a graduate of the St. Petersburg Conservatory. He studied orchestration under Rimsk-Korsakov.
Prokofiev became friends with Stravinsky although they held very different views on certain musical matters.
