Berlioz was a french composer of the Romantic period. Berlioz's father was a doctor and music was not a major part of his education. He was home schooled by his father from the age of 10. Berlioz never had the opportunity to study piano.

He went on to become a great composer of Symphonies, Operas and Choral Works. Some of his most famous works are his Symphony Fantastique, Messe Solenelle, and the opera the Damnation of Faust.
